Air Aware Labs takes strategy into action

Welcome to the thirty-first edition of our newsletter, as we talk strategy, engage globally and hit over 100,000 activities logged via AirTrack! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products. And we now have over 700 subscribers!
We have seen some unusual poor air quality across Europe this week and on a few occasions through the winter. The pollution has travelled hundreds - even thousands - of miles from Eastern Europe, carried by prevailing easterly winds. Additional air masses have arrived from Southern Europe and Northern Africa, showing just how interconnected our atmosphere is. These wind patterns bring elevated levels of tiny particles that can penetrate deep into your lungs and bloodstream, increasing the risk of asthma attacks, heart disease, and other respiratory issues. Knowing the air pollution predictions, like you might look at weather forecasts, helps you to protect your health. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

- on Wednesday evening we pitched to US-based VCs and corporates via the Plug and Play Tech Center event with university-affiliated start ups. We are also grateful to Imperial College London for selecting us to go on a venture trek to Bengaluru, India in May!

Meet the team
This week, we are meeting Alan Debonneville and Fred Joye from Arcanys Ventures, who were one of our early investors and recently followed on. Arcanys is a firm that helps startups scale their tech teams efficiently. With years of experience working with early-stage companies, Alan and Fred focus on providing founders with the technical expertise and execution support they need to grow.
Fred on why Air Aware Labs stood out: “We look for startups tackling real issues with a smart approach and a team that can execute. Air Aware Labs checked all the boxes. Air pollution isn’t just an abstract environmental concern—it’s a direct health risk that most people don’t even realize they’re exposed to daily. What stood out to us was how AirAware turns something invisible into actionable data, helping individuals make better decisions. On top of that, we were impressed by the team—both founders and their head of engineering are highly capable, bringing the right mix of expertise and drive to make this a success. That mix of deep expertise and fast execution made it an easy yes for us.”
We’re excited to have Alan, Fred, and the Arcanys Ventures team on board as we work to make air quality insights more accessible to everyone.
