Welcome to the twenty-ninth edition of our newsletter, as we build up to our mobile app launch with beta testing and a rebrand! This newsletter is aimed at investors, collaborators, future hires and early adopters of our products.
But before we get into product updates, a reminder of why we are doing this. Air pollution affects everyone but it impacts the most vulnerable the most. The tragic case of Awaab Ishak, which led to the recent introduction of Awaab’s Law, highlights the urgent need to address poor housing conditions and indoor air pollution - a significant public health issue. This week, a new indoor air quality study, co-authored by Will as part of Imperial's WellHome project, was published. It provides a protocol to examine pollution levels in 100 homes across West London to better understand how air quality affects respiratory health of different families. At Air Aware Labs, we believe everyone should have access to tools that help them understand and reduce pollution exposure. That’s why we’re committed to keeping a free version of AirTrack - ensuring air quality insights remain accessible to all. Please join us on our mission - Personalising Air Quality, for everyone.

As all our data is anonymised, we don't know which users have achieved this! If you'd like to be interviewed on how AirTrack has improved your health, please get it touch

Meet the team
This week, we are meeting Richard Coates one of our recent investors. Richard says "In 2009 after a 19 year career in the energy industry working in all parts of the supply chain, driven by a desire to develop myself whilst helping others via investment, my experience and time, I moved on to follow my passions of health, fitness and the transition to a greener sustainable world. I run my own running coaching business working with athletes of all levels on an individual / group basis, via charities and at training camps in the UK and abroad. Alongside this I’ve started up a gym in London (Stars Gym) and helped expand a bouldering and climbing centre chain (Climbing Hut) in the Midlands. I volunteer as a running coach at London City Runners taking great pleasure in helping runners and coaches of all ages and levels to develop their running and leadership skills.
"I have provided substantial financial support via capital and debt to numerous start-ups in my areas of interest, some successfully, some not so successfully such is the arena of start-up investment! I’ve learn as much from failure as I have from success. I am an active investor who doesn’t just provide support financially / my network of contacts, giving as much time as is needed to the companies I invest in.
"Having seen the effect of poor air quality on so many, Air Aware Labs' mission to provide accurate and insightful data to help users make choices that will improve their performance and day to day health fully aligns with my core values. I’m really looking forward to going on the their journey with them!"
